ELASTO at Chinaplas 2011
ELASTO, a leading developer and manufacturer of custom formulated thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds, will demonstrate its continued commitment to meeting the growing needs and the importance of its customers in China at Chinaplas 2011.
2011 will mark ELASTO’s first time exhibiting at Chinaplas and forms part of their strategy to support and develop their global markets. ELASTO have supplied customers in Asia for a number of years, initially to European customers that had shifted production to China and more recently and increasingly to locally owned moulders.
“We have a growing presence in Asia and are proud of the progress we have made so far”, commented Dr. Kjell Fagerstrom, business manager at ELASTO. “To support our growing Chinese customer base, earlier this year we appointed Telko Shanghai as our distributor in China. Thereby giving our customers the benefit of Elasto’s product knowledge and development expertise, backed by Telko’s local sales coverage and stock inventory. We welcome customers to Chinaplas 2011 (Hall 5.2 stand H71), where they can learn more about our products, services and commitment to the China market.”
On display at Chinaplas will be material samples from the company’s leading TPE brands; Dryflex and Mediprene, showcasing the array of properties and design possibilities their range has to offer. Dryflex TPE compounds are available in hardness’s ranging from zero shore A to 65 shore D, they offer transparency, good compression set, abrasion and tear resistance, high-flow rates and adhesion to engineering thermoplastics including PP, PE, PA, ABS, PC, PS, PMMA, ASA, SAN and their blends. ELASTO will showcase several applications from the automotive, consumer, construction and toy markets where their compounds have simplified production for their customers and added-value with soft-touch appeal.
ELASTO will also be presenting the advances in their Mediprene® range of TPE Compounds for medical device applications, including grades that do not contain any paraffinic oil which minimize the risk of leaching and extractables. Mediprene® compounds are sterilizable with gamma, EtO and steam and representative grades have passed cytotoxicity tests according to ISO 10993-5 and biocompatibility tests according to USP Class VI. Mediprene® TPEs have also proven to be strong alternatives as replacement for PVC; they are completely synthetic and latex free thereby minimizing allergy risks.
