HEXPOL TPE showcase high performing Thermoplastic Elastomers at Interplas 2017
At Interplas 2017 HEXPOL TPE will present the latest editions to their Dryflex portfolio of Thermoplastic Elastomers. These compounds are designed to add soft-touch, functional performance or product safety features to a range of applications in the consumer, automotive, industrial, packaging and construction markets.
“We always enjoy the Interplas event,” commented Jill Bradford, marketing manager at HEXPOL TPE. “It brings together all sides of the UK plastics industry; from designers to tool makers, OEMs, compounders, distributors and machinery suppliers. Our goal is to be the easiest company to do business with and at Interplas we’ll show how we do this, both in the way we work and with the products we develop. We’ll present case studies that illustrate how we partner with customers to develop bespoke materials that solve their application, supply or design challenges”.
Among the highlights will be:
Dryflex Touch - a range of TPEs designed to give a superior silky feel and touchably soft sensation. Several series have been developed with properties designed for applications such as wearable technology, consumer electronics, smartphone and tablet protective cases. Dryflex Touch TPE compounds have a smooth and velvety feel that is non-sticky and easy to clean. They also offer good scratch and abrasion resistance; all of which helps to enhance the durability, appearance and aesthetics of the final application. The Dryflex Touch range includes grades that are produced from raw materials which are compliant with food contact regulations, as well as UV resistant grades and compounds that are latex and PVC free.
Another growing area for HEXPOL TPE is the Dryflex Green family of biobased TPEs from renewable resources. They are opening up previously unreachable design solutions to the biobased thermoplastic market by covering a wider range of hardnesses, including softer grades from 20 Shore A through to 55 Shore D, while incorporating high levels of renewable content to over 90%. The biobased content is achieved by use of truly sustainable raw materials and feedstocks with recognised certifications such as ISCC+ and can derive from raw materials such as polymers, fillers, plasticizers or additives. HEXPOL TPE has also developed compounds using organic fillers from plants, crops or trees; these give additional organic appearance and haptics.
The automotive sector continues to be a dominant force for the polymer industry. HEXPOL TPE have a strong portfolio of compounds for automotive interior applications such as floor mats, fascia mats and HVAC components. At Interplas the HEXPOL TPE team will be on hand to advise visitors on new developments in high-performance TPEs with low fogging, odour and VOC properties.
HEXPOL TPE is exhibiting at Interplas in Birmingham, UK stand B31 from 26 to 28 September.
