ELASTO deliver TPE masterclass at PDM

Confused by TPE? Ever wondered what the difference is between TPS, TPO, TPU, TPV?

At the PDM 2014 exhibition taking place in Telford, UK 18 & 19 June, ELASTO UK will be sharing insights and best practices around the various classes of thermoplastic elastomers, their respective properties and applications.

“There are a number of different classes within the TPE family, including styrenic block copolymers (TPS or TPE-S), polyolefin blends (TPO or TPE-O) and thermoplastic vulcanisate (TPV or TPE-V). Each class brings its own list of properties and functionality and each class has benefits and limitations in different environments. By sharing our insights, we want customers to be confident that the material they are using is the best solution for their requirements”, explained Dominic Philpot, managing director at ELASTO UK.

“As part of the HEXPOL TPE group we have developed one of the most comprehensive portfolios of TPEs and flexible polymers in the industry. So whether high fluid and heat resistance is needed from a TPV compound in automotive sealing, a TPS grade with good recovery to deformation and suitable for food contact or a biocompatible medical grade TPE for medical tubing is required, we can offer the best solution or indeed multiple compounds from different classes”.

“An understanding of the different options will empower visitors to PDM to greater differentiate their products, open up design possibilities and help improve processing and performance. Our expanded sales and technical team will be on hand at PDM to guide visitors through material selection and demonstrate application solutions in the consumer, medical, construction and automotive sectors” concluded Philpot.

ELASTO is exhibiting at PDM 2014, stand C027.
